Lilypie Expecting a baby Ticker

First Kicks

So I've been feeling the baby moving around, but this morning was the first time Joey got to feel little Currie! The baby had been kicking my stomach, so Joey put his palm on my stomach. All of a sudden the baby kicked his palm! I jumped, and Joey's eyes became wide with excitement. It was a beautiful moment. I thought I would share it with the rest of you!

What's in a Name?

So we are working on choosing the baby's middle name. We know the first name is going to be Currie, as the baby will be the 5th generation Currie on Joey's side (yes, Joey's real first name is Currie). Currie means "hero" among other things. We really want the baby's middle name to be as great as the first, especially concentrating on the meaning. The name needs to fit well between "Currie" and "Dail". So why am I saying all this? Well, I just wanted to open the floor to suggestions that anyone might have. I know we can't possibly get to hear all the great names out there, but I thought if we called on our family and friends to help, we would get a better sample from which to choose. The middle name we are leaning towards right now is "Alden" which means "old, wise protector" and "old friend". This would be appropriate with "hero" and also the child being the first born (yes we hope to have more one day). So if you have any suggestions, email me at karissakrapf@bellsouth.net . THANKS EVERYONE!

Another Currie Dail :)

IT'S A BOY!
We found out this morning we are having a little Currie. The baby was also healthy from what the nurse could tell, and it sure was active in there. He was covering his face with his hands and sucking on his toes. Below are the ultrasound pictures. We also got a video tape that we can show those of you who we might actually get to see in person.

Snow Day- In the Boro?

Yes, today it is actually snowing in Murfreesboro. Joey and I are just hanging around the house. We decided to take some pictures of each other (me and my pregnant belly- bleh). So here they are. This top picture is of us on Valentine's Day or close to it.

The Beginning

So I (Karissa) decided to start a webpage for all the things that Joey, the baby, and I are going to be up to. I thought this would be a great way for relatives in other states to see our family grow and know what we are up to on a daily basis.
This week, Joey and I have been busy with work and school. I am going to MTSU, majoring in Psychology, and am taking 12 hours. Sometimes it's hard to feel like going with all of the pregnancy nausea and dizziness, but I find a way to attend inspite of those things most days. I work on Tuesday and Thursdays when I don't have school. I watch two little boys under age 4, Mason and Ben, all day while their mom goes to school. Joey works for the City of Murfreesboro with the Greenway planning activities and such. The weekends are our time to clean house and have friends over. We generally just keep our activites to free activities because of limited income, but have fun just spending time with one another.
The baby is growing rapidly; it is due on July 6th! I am trying not to gain too much weight. We are so excited that on Monday the 20th we get to find out the gender of the baby! Then we'll know what we can start calling it (probably going to be a little Currie, knowing the track record!). Joey is very supportive of all the things I have to go through carrying our child, and I try to be as unemotional as possible (though sometimes I just get sensitive with all the changes going on). Overall, we are loving living together in our 2 bedroom apartment near the school. We like the way our home came together with the stuff we both have. It's simple, and we like it that way. We have a designated space for the crib and baby stuff in our master bedroom! And our apartment backs up to grass and trees (and a 4 lane highway on the other side...), and the entrance to the apartment complex which has landscaping. It's like having a little backyard, and it's nice to not have to see other apartments.
We hope everyone else is doing well, and we'll be putting some pictures of baby on here as we get them from ultrasounds.

This one is the very first picture of the baby at 5 weeks. Actually, it is just the yolk sak the baby feeds off of or something.

This is a picture of the baby at around 12 weeks when we found out I was going to have the baby instead of miscarry like the doctor had previously thought based on hormone levels in my blood (needless to say, I changed doctors, the quack). It was taken 2 days before I was going to have a D & C to remove the what they thought to be "dead fetus". Good thing I asked for an ultrasound!
