Oh, Another Piece of News

Joey has accepted a full time position with the Smyrna Boys and Girls Club! This is great news for us! We will finally be able to be independent, start saving, and making future plans. This job starts at a good pay with yearly raises and has pretty good benefits. This may make it possible for us to get married soon! We might also be able to move into a bigger place once the lease is up here in December.

The bad news is that Joey has to go out of town for a conference Monday through Friday of next week in Raliegh. I'm nowhere near ready for him to leave me and baby alone and especially on the first week of my school starting! I hope we'll be okay!

5 Weeks

We got mad at Alden and turned him into a toad for all his screaming, since we have recently taken up witchcraft.

JUST KIDDING! This is a toad we rescued out of the road last night.

Here are some pictures of the little booger. Don't let the cute face fool ya, he's a stinker!

Perfect Baby

Today Alden had a doctor's appointment. He has gained a pound and some ounces (putting him at 10.4!) and is 22 inches long. The doctor said he looks PERFECT. He's so healthy we don't have to come back until his first immunizations in 6 weeks. He was very good for the doctor as well. Joey and I are so proud! I was glad to see that he is getting enough nourishment from my breast feeding him. Even though breast feeding is difficult it is worth it to know I am giving him the best start possible.

During this time of being pregnant and having the baby, I have been amazed at the generosity of all the people Joey and me know. People have given us so much that we haven't had to buy anything for the baby out of our pockets yet! That has been a huge help. Thank you to EVERYONE that has given us anything. We also appreciate all the support we have received from our families. Thanks to everyone for being understanding and thinking of us often. It is wonderful to know we are so loved and cared about and great to know Alden will get to experience that love as well.

Joey is one of the best dads I have ever seen. He never ceases to amaze me the way he works with Alden. I think we are both enjoying being parents for the most part and are still blown away by thinking of ourselves as "parents". It'll take some getting used to!

I am recovering slowly, but I am feeling much better than I was in the hospital (I was there for a week). I can't wait to start seeing family and friends very soon.

Thanks to everyone for everything.
